Unlike many of the major high-end Swiss watch brands, WorldTempus does not close over the summer, so you can look forward to receiving our weekly newsletter at 7am sharp (Swiss time) as usual throughout the summer. We are allowed holidays, however, so by the time you read this I will have completed my second flight to Mallorca for a week’s holiday. The first trip was last week with Armin Strom to discover the thrill of foiling on a GC32 racing catamaran, which I will tell you about when I get back. In the meantime, Michèle Brunner will bring you next Monday’s summary of the week’s news.
I recently had the chance to ride with quadruple time trial world champion Fabian Cancellara thanks to IWC. Luckily, I was on an electric bike, which helped me to keep up with the peloton. It was the first opportunity for IWC to organise an event with the Swiss cycling legend since his retirement and the perfect occasion to launch a strictly limited edition Ingenieur model that was co-designed by Fabian Cancellara. Read all about it in my report today.
Even though many brands will soon close for a few weeks, there will always be plenty of news on WorldTempus. We continue this week with our presentation of our exclusive unique pieces, with a one-off Monza from TAG Heuer that has already seen some interest and an Eberhard & Co. Scafograf. We also focus on some more of the unique pieces on offer at this year’s Only Watch auction, looking this week at the watches by Breguet and Jaquet Droz. Plus there are new collections from Bulgari (see the new Octo Monete models today, Alpina and Hermès. Look out, too, for articles from the latest issue of GMT magazine.
Don’t forget our competitions. In our daily summer competitions you can win a pair of Italia Independent sunglasses kindly offered by Hublot (today), a bottle of Infinite 8 champagne and an Air Force Academy Switzerland polo shirt.
