This IWC Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph is tribute to Swiss boatbuilder Boesch. It is a limited edition watch. With a mahogany-coloured dial and, on the inside of the glass back cover, a mahogany inlay made specially for the watch by Boesch itself.
With its clearly structured dial and classic railway-track- style chapter ring, simple Arabic numerals, and slender feuille hands, this IWC Portugieser limited edition maintains the key design elements typical of the original Portugieser model introduced in 1939.
The analogue display at 12 o’clock indicates stop times longer than a minute and up to 12 hours.
The 43.5 mm x 14.5 mm stainless steel case features a screw-in crown with protective shoulders and chronograph push buttons whose shape is somehow reminiscent of the bitts found on the deck of ships. Water resistant to 6 bar, it houses the robust IWC-manufactured 89361-chronograph calibre with flyback function which beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of 68 hours.
