The Bvlgari Serpenti Collection are haute jeweled watches. It is seen on the wrists of numerous high-profile celebrities and after seeing one in person, I can say with certainty is it definitely a showstopper.

The Serpenti is one of Bvlgari‘s most recognizable designs and was first introduced in the 1940s. The earliest confirmed Serpenti bracelet design was inspired by the “gas pipe” design and was made in the Machine Style of the late 1940s. The result was a wrap-around, flexible bracelet made of white, yellow, or pink gold tubular links, creating an elastic band that easily slips on and off.Bvlgari Serpenti collection hands on
The vintage Serpenti  watches and bracelets often come up at auction, and the earlier examples house movements by Jaeger LeCoultre and other great Swiss makers of the time. They are super cool watches and are very collectible. The most recent addition to the Serpenti collection is the watch featured here today.Bvlgari Serpenti collection hands on 05
The overall design has moved away from the wrap around bracelet to a mechanically simpler single bracelet that fastens underneath with a push clasp. Each link, made to represent a segment of the serpent’s body, is created by hand in a precious metal that is either enameled, or set with brilliant-cut diamonds. The 26 mm case is in the form of a snake’s head, and features a mother-of-pearl dial. The case is additionally set with six brilliant-cut diamonds.Bvlgari Serpenti collection hands on 03
As for the movement, the newer watches use an in-house Swiss caliber B033 quartz movement – an understandable concession to the preferences of many modern clients when it comes to convenience and of course, standard practice for many of even the most luxurious high jewelry watches. Though an haute horlogerie movement would be a wonderful addition, especially as the vintage pieces used mechanical movements. Bvlgari Serpenti collection hands on 02

All in all, it is a special watches in this industry. The case and bracelet design that makes this watch special – an almost savagely splendid but still feminine design icon from Bvlgari.
