Rolex created a few gold watches ,but this yellow gold watch is a milestone of it.This rolex watch called Rolex Day-Date 40.

In yellow gold  you can have one of five different dial variations. Rolex supplied us with a champagne dial, and if the Day-Date is the ur-gold Rolex, the champagne dial is the ur-dial for that model.Front of Rolex 40mm yellow gold watch

The Day-Date 40 mm was also announced with a new movement: Rolex caliber 3255, which, if you’re looking for chronometric excellence and reliability, is probably one of the best series produced movements in the world right now. It’s not, obviously, intended to be especially thin, or a vehicle for the presentation of knock-your-socks-off finishing effects; instead, it’s designed to be a durable, high-performance timekeeping machine, and as such is a triumph of industrial design rather than aesthetics per se, although as is the case with many high precision machines, it has a certain lean-and-mean aesthetic of its own. For the purpose for which it was designed, it’s going to be very tough to beat. Rolex has filed for a total of 14 patents related to the caliber 3255, including those pertaining to the “Chronergy” escapement.  Side of Rolex 40mm yellow gold watch
The Chronergy escapement is an optimized version of the lever escapement; the Chronergy escape wheel is skeletonized in order to reduce energy loss due to inertia. Skeletonizing the escape wheel is a very logical way to lower inertial loads, and thus losses, through the escapement and it’s a bit of a mini-trend nowadays – Seiko uses a skeletonized escape wheel in its hand wound caliber 9S64, for instance, which it introduced in 2011; Audemars Piguet uses one in the AP direct impulse escapement; Breguet has one in its 10 hz Classique Chronométrie reference 7727, and so on.
